Vincent Arcilesi

Arcilesi has exhibited extensively since 1966. Most recently he was one of the artists selected to participate in the Peace Tower re-created for the Whitney Biennial 2006: Day For Night by Mark di Suvero and Rirkrit Tiravanija. Following that he was in Watercurrents 2006: The Figure at Lori Bookstein Fine Art. He has shown in many other New York exhibitions, as well as in a number of important museum shows, including the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Verona, Italy, the Brooklyn Museum, the Butler Institute of American Art (Youngstown, Ohio), the Art Institute of Chicago, the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. The artist’s work is included in Artists of the Ideal by Edward Lucie-Smith, 2002, The Majesty of the Grand Canyon: 150 Years of Art by Joni L. Kinsey and Arnold Skolnick, 1998; American Realism by Edward Lucie-Smith, 1994; Spirit of Place: Contemporary Landscape Painting and the American Tradition by John Arthur, 1989; and Contemporary American Realism since 1960 by Frank H. Goodyear, Jr., 1981. His work was also featured in American Artist in September, 1983.

Vincent Arcilesi is represented in numerous collections both public and private, including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC. He is a Professor at FIT, where he teaches drawing and painting.
